Limerick Racecourse programmes a summer racing season featuring top quality racing moving into top quality live entertainment in the evening. King Johns Castle is one of Limerick’s primary tourist attractions, given its 800-year history, painstaking re-construction and excellent tours once inside. During the summer however, it opens its doors as a stunning 2,000 capacity venue, welcoming major acts for outdoor concerts with a gorgeous backdrop. These concerts have proved to be the highlight of the summer for many within the city, combining the outdoor festival feels with a more intimate event than normally possible at such concerts, given the venue capacity and its aesthetics.
